Myrto Nizami is a composer and pianist from Greece. She is often inspired by poetry and painting, philosophy and the politics. In her music she explores the fluid and airy plasticity of sound while she seeks for the music interplay between technology and physical sound material. She has composed music for acoustic instruments, voice and electronics.

Her music has been presented in festivals and venues such as Outhear New Music Week (Greece), Royaumont "Voix Nouvelles", "Lichtbogen Neue Musik" festival at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf (Germany), Tehran International Electronic Music Festival (IR), Ref-Resilience Festival 2021 (Italy), Kruis + Bestuiving - ANNA3 2020 (Belgium) and others. She has received commissions from Onassis Foundation as part of the “A Music Bridge above Syggrou Avenue - Vol. 7” (GR), Muzika Bulegoa Suona Irratzari Foundation (SP) and others, while her music has been performed in Greece, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and USA.

She has received awards such as the First Prize at the XIV International Composition Competition “Francisco Escudero” (SP), honorary diplomas at the 3rd International Composer Competition “New Music Generation 2021” (KZ) and the GICC 2021 composition competition in (USA).

She has collaborated with musicians and ensembles such as, Klangforum Wien, Ilsuono Giallo, Residentie Orkest, Artéfacts, Stolz Quartet, Kali Ensemble, Sonor, Synaesthesis and with soloists as Marie Ythier, Niki Lada, Alexandros Ioannou, and others.

Myrto shas obtained degrees and diplomas on piano, theory (incl. counterpoint, fugue and orchestration), a B.Mus. in Composition from the Department of Music Science and Art (UOM - Thessaloniki) and a M.Mus. in Composition from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. From 2021-2022 she attended the Electroacoustic Music Composition Course at the Institute of Sonology (Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague).
