Composition workshops open to application

Applicants must indicate their 1st and 2nd priority choices from among the following workshops :

 • Composition Workshop with EIC ensemble with or without voice.

• Composition Workshop with EIC ensemble and Philharmonic Orchestra,

• Composition Workshop with the EXAUDI Ensemble for 6 voices,

• Composition Workshop with “In Vivo Danse”,

• Composition Workshop with "In Vivo Video”,

• Electro-acoustic Interpretation Master Class.

• Computer Music Workshop:  Analysis and Hands On.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have been born after July 1st, 1978. 

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

 

These documents should be uploaded to your personal space before filling out your application form:

 

Personal information

• Educational background and diploma(s) (compulsory)

• A description of your professional experience (compulsory)

• A list of prizes and awards (compulsory)

• A short (150 - 200 words max.) biography (compulsory)

• A photo (jpeg or pdf) (optional)

 

Other documents

• Photocopy of your legal ID (compulsory)

• Recommendation letter (optional) NB: You can directly send or have the letter sent to the Acanthes Academy email address : acanthes@ircam.fr

• Any other document you wish to join (optional)


Compositions :

You will need to submit works and/or information related to the workshop you apply for (corresponding to your 1st and 2nd choice).

• Composition Workshop for EIC ensemble: 3 works, at least one of which is for large ensemble. (Please submit at least 2 scores and 1 recording among the 3 works.)

• Composition Workshop for EIC ensemble and Philharmonic Orchestra: 3 works, at least one of which is for large ensemble. (Please submit at least 2 scores and 1 recording among the 3 works.)

• Composition Workshop for the EXAUDI Ensemble for 6 voices: 3 works, at least two of which are for choir, vocal-ensemble, or voice(s) and instruments. (Please submit at least 2 scores and 2 recordings among the 3 works.)

• Composition workshop for “In Vivo Danse”: 3 works, at least one of which is with electronics (if your chose to write with electronics). (Please submit at least 1 instrumental score and 2 recordings among the 3 works. NB: you can also send a score or a recording that gives a good idea of the future work that you will create during the “In Vivo Danse” project.)

• Composition Workshop electronic pieces for "In Vivo Video": 3 works, at least 2 of which is with electronics.  (Please submit at least 1 instrumental score and 2 recordings among the 3 works.)

• Electro-acoustic Interpretation Master Class: You will be asked to download a questionnaire to evaluate your level of technical mastery.

• Computer Music Workshop:  Analysis and Hands On: 3 works, at least 2 of which is with electronics.  (Please submit at least 1 instrumental score and 2 recordings among the 3 works.) You will be asked to download a questionnaire to evaluate your level of technical mastery.
