During the course, young students and professionals to become have a chance to work with pianist Marilyn Nonken on a wide range of 20th-century and contemporary piano music. Nonken may be best known for her work with composers of spectral music (Tristan Murail, Hugues Dufourt, Jonathan Harvey), but she is also strongly dedicated to the composers of the New York School (Morton Feldman, Alvin Lucier, John Cage); classics of the 20th-century repertoire (Schönberg, Ives, Messiaen); and emerging voices. Pianists will have private as well as group coachings, and the session ends with a public concert. Duo piano teams will be considered.
