Beginning of the open rehearsals at Flagey
From great ideas and abstract scores to true orchestral sounds: for young composers it is often an unattainable process: an orchestra is a very expensive ‘instrument’ that is not easily available. [’tactus] offers young composers the opportunity to put theory into practice, and to develop their skill together with orchestras.
[‘tactus] is a forum for composers younger than 35 years old which gives them the chance to work together with an orchestra.
The jury (Jean-Paul Dessy, Kimmo Hakola, Claude Ledoux, Ann McKay, Benoît Mernier, Annelies Van Parys & Jeroen D’hoe) selected out of 94 applications the following young composers to participate in the [‘tactus] session orchestra 2019:
DIETTERICH Natalie, 26, American https://www.nataliedietterich.com/
MARKOVIC Jug, 31, Serbian https://soundcloud.com/jugkonstantin
RENHART Christoph, 31, Austrian https://chrenhart.eu/
SANCHEZ GARCIA Manuel J., 30, Spanish https://manuelsanchezgarcia.com/
WANG Meng, 30, Chinese https://www.mengwangmusic.com/
Natalie Dietterich was the winner of the 8th orchestral edition of ['tactus] Young Composers' Forum. Her work 'aeolian dust' will be presented next season at Flagey played by Brussels Philharmonic.
