After his violin and composition studies in Madrid, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt (International Ensemble Modern Academy), Diego Ramos Rodríguez appears regularly in festivals and concert venues in Europe and collaborates with several orchestras and ensembles: Ensemble Modern, MusikFabrik, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Interface... and works with conductors such as Kent Nagano, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Pascal Rophé, Brad Lubman, Peter Rundel and Peter Eötvös. Following his passion for classical and contemporary chamber music, he performs regularly with the Isenburg Quartett, the Améi Quartett and the Mondstein Duo among others. Diego Ramos appears regularly in festivals and concert halls in whole Europe and Japan as a violinist or composer Donaueschinger Musiktage, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Takefu International Music Festival (Japan), Hellerau, cresc...Biennale, Slowind Spring (Ljubljana), Festival Présences (Paris), Wigmore Hall (London) and works with performers such as Mie Miki, Naoko Yoshino, Gilles Grimaître and Karolina Öhman; ensembles such as sonic.art, Slowind, Duo Steimel-Mücksch, Ensemble Modern; composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Nicolaus Huber, Lars Petter Hagen, Joanna Bailie; choreographers such as Jacopo Godani and film directors such as Timm Kröger. His works have received several prizes (Eigidio Carella Prize at the Val Tidone Composition Competition, Karlsruhe Composition Competition, twice finalist at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb) and have been already performed in Spain, Germany, Holland, Japan, Switzerland and Slovenia. His activitiy as a performer, composer and mediator is a constant search for balance between musical ideas and their physical realisation: creativity appears through a constant dialog with and among performers and is the vehicle of the communication with the audience. Diego Ramos is currently writing his doctoral dissertation at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt and collaborates with institutions such as the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt and the Netzwerk Neue Musik Baden-Württemberg.
