Born in Turin, he begins studying classical piano in 1998 and singing in 2003, to then approach the countertenor voice, studied in depth at the Conservatory “Guido Cantelli” of Novara, where he graduates with honours in Renaissance and Baroque singing with Roberto Balconi, and the Post-graduate Academy of Higher Artistic and Musical Education “Lorenzo Perosi” in Biella, with Manuela Custer.
He takes part in several courses in musical performance, on the repertoire for voice and ancient instruments (Evelyn Tubb and Michael Fields, Sara Mingardo, Roberto Balconi, Claire Lefilliâtre, Eduardo Egüez), 20th century and contemporary vocal chamber music (Alda Caiello), Lieder (Erik Battaglia and Valentina Valente), on the Italian chamber music of the 19th century and Mozart repertoire (Magda Koczka), early music (La Compagnia del Madrigale), ethnic music and blues/jazz improvisation (Levon Minassian, Gianni Denitto) and vocal technique (Francis Keeping, Manuela Custer, Yva Barthélémy, Elisa Turlà).
He has collaborated with important musical realities (Ars Cantica Choir & Consort, Cappella Musicale della Cattedrale di Vercelli, Accademia dei Solinghi, Gesualdo Consort of Gesualdo, Allegri Penitenti, Accademia La Chimera, I Madrigalisti Estensi, Ensemble Didone Abbandonata, Ensemble Il Narvalo, Ensemble bolognese San Pietro and the realities founded by him, La Estrella Ensemble, Vaghe Stelle and Orifauno Duo), performing for renowned festivals and theaters, in Italy and abroad (Austria, France, Slovenia, Switzerland), among which Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, Teatro Lirico in Magenta, Teatro Olivero in Saluzzo, Teatro Manzoni in Pistoia, Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Teatro Malibran in Venezia, Teatro Del Monaco in Treviso, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, Teatro Bibiena in Mantua.
He has sung for conductors of international importance, among which Roberto Balconi, Marco Berrini, Roland Böer, Michele Brescia, Gianluca Capuano, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Francesco Cilluffo, Francesco Corti, Francesco Erle, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Daniele Giorgi, Guido Maria Guida, Giorgio Mezzanotte, Piero Monti, Andrea Morricone, Damiana Natali, Gianandrea Noseda, Francesco Pasqualetti, Rita Peiretti, Mattia Rondelli, Hernán Schvartzman, Massimiliano Toni, Omer Meir Wellber.
Finalist and winner of several international competitions (International Baroque Singing Competition “Francesco Provenzale”, International Competition “San Colombano”) and protagonist of numerous solo recitals, his repertoire ranges from the Middle Ages to the contemporary, including first performances of pieces specially written for his voice; he has recorded for Brilliant Classics, Naxos, Plus and has played main roles in operas by Monteverdi (“L’Orfeo”, “L’incoronazione di Poppea”), Lotti (“Polidoro”), Albinoni (“Zenobia, regina de’ Palmireni”), Lully (“Le bourgeois gentilhomme”), Purcell (“The Fairy-Queen”, “Dido & Æneas”), sharing the stage with artists, such as Furio Zanasi and Claire Lefilliâtre.
He graduated, summa cum laude, in Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa and in Linguistics at the University of Turin.
