Recognized as one of most prestigious schools of advanced music training in Italy, the Accademia di Musica Foundation ETS has been operating in Pinerolo and Turin since 1994. Music is at the very heart of its training offer, which every year involves more than 50 internationally renowned teachers and around 650 students, attending Postgraduate Specialist courses in piano and contemporary piano, (recognised by the Ministry of Universities and Research). There are also advanced music training courses and masterclasses in contemporary piano, violin, viola, cello, orchestra excerpts, flute, clarinet, chamber music, performance-oriented composition, and opera singing. These are accompanied by projects such as the Summer camp, the Professione Orchestra (on-the-job training experience in partnership with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra), the Accademia Chamber Orchestra and the numerous collaborations with partners all over Italy, who stage performances by the school’s best students. From 2024, a new venture in advanced music training will be launched: Opera Singing will be taught at the Accademia, in the postgraduate Specialist Degree Course (recognised by the Ministry of Universities and Research - MUR) established in partnership with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, as well as in a one-year Advanced Opera Singing Course and in Masterclasses. The Accademia stages many performances for the public, principally the renowned concert season organised by the Fondazione for 30 years, which offers a lively and varied series of concerts, alternating important soloists of international fame with prize-winning young musicians. More performances are offered in summer, in the concert series of the Musica d'Estate summer camp, as well as during the year in and around Pinerolo. The Accademia is also fully involved in wide-ranging international projects, such as the prestigious bi-annual chamber music competition, the ICM Competition Pinerolo e Torino Città Metropolitana (which is a member of the WFIMC (Unesco)), and CADMO of the European Digi Orchestra Project. The Accademia’s guiding principle has always been the pursuit of excellence in art and culture, from a perspective that is increasingly international.
