Since 1986, the June in Buffalo Festival has featured workshops, rehearsals, concerts, recordings of participant and Senior composer works, masterclasses, Senior composer lectures, and performances from some of the world's top contemporary music ensembles. This year, though we hope for much of the festival to be in-person, we recognize that airline travel, face-to-face meetings, and in-person concerts may be unable to occur due to the global pandemic. Because of this uncertainty, we are preparing for a possible range of remote and in-person options for festival activities which will be clarified as the festival dates approach.
We have a great line-up for this year's festival – June in Buffalo 2021 will feature Senior composers David Felder, Stefano Gervasoni, Jeffrey Mumford, Hilda Paredes, Robert H.P. Platz, and Augusta Read Thomas. Resident ensembles will include the Arditti Quartet, Ensemble Signal with conductor Brad Lubman, Loadbang, the Slee Sinfonietta, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor JoAnn Falletta. Now that we have begun live-streaming our events, we look forward to seeing you remotely and/or in-person this June!
