àktapha, together with composer Ioannis Angelakis, invite interested composers to apply for our 2nd International Composition Seminar: Building Performance Practices!
This year the seminar is growing. It will be spread over two periods (October 2025 and February 2026) to allow for a more long-term and in-depth collaboration and interaction between the ensemble and the participating composers.
From the open call process 8 participants will be selected, who will work intensively with the ensemble within a programme that includes private lessons, reading sessions, rehearsals, individual work with ensemble members, lectures, an improvisation workshop and two concerts.
At the end of the workshop each participant is required to have completed a 10-15 minute piece which will be performed by àktapha at the final concert of the workshop in February 2026.
The main goal of the workshop is for everyone involved to participate in a community of productive experimentation. Special emphasis is given to the collaboration between the ensemble and the composers as well as to the ongoing effort of building a performance practice through the composition process.
