Since September 2017, Kiril Stankow acts as Kapellmeister and assistant to the chief conductor at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. His first production was Tschaikowskys Ballett „The Nutcracker“ and he conducted several performances of Hänsel and Gretel, Wildschütz and Maria Stuarda in his first Season.
In summer 2018 Stankow debuted with the Norddeutsche Orchesterakademie at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg (Strauss Alpensinfonie).
In 2013, Stankow attracted international attention for the first time - when he finished second after four rounds in the renowned Conducting Competition at Besançon, conducting the Orchestre National de Lorraine. One year later, he was an activ participent of the Interaktion XII in Berlin.
Stankow has conducted the MDR Sinfonieorchester, the Staatsorchester am Gärtnerplatz, the Kritisches Orchester Berlin, the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg and the Orchestre National de Lorraine, the Youth Orchestras Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Franche-Comté/Fra.
In 2017 he attended the master classes with David Zinman and the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich.
Stankow holds a scholarship of the Richard-Wagner-Gesellschaft and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
