Andrzej Ojczenasz (* 1992, Kraków) - a graduate of the Jagiellonian University. He completed his bachelor's degree in composition in the class of prof. dr hab. Marcel Chyrzyński. Currently, student in the class of prof. dr hab. Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków. He is taking part in a Poland-USA exchange program, studying composition at the University of Louisville in the USA.
In 2019, he received an honorable mention at the 2nd Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers, he won first place in the 5th Krzysztof Penderecki Composition Competition organized as part of the 9. NDI Sopot Classic 2019 festival. Received an artistic scholarship under the COMPOSER.PL project organized by Agata Zubel and Michał Moc for artistic residency at West Fyords of Iceland.
In December 2019 he received honorable distinction at 2019 15th Sun River Prize Students’ New Music Composition Competition Chengdu-China.
In June 2020 he received scholarship for taking masterclasses in Lugano in Switzerland during Ticino Musica Festival, sponsored by Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne from Switzerland.
In May 2021 he received 2nd Award in the 6th Krzysztof Penderecki Composition Competition organized as part of the 11th Sopot Classic festival.
In October 2021, he received the 2nd prize at the 1st St. Christopher Composition Competition organized by the Vilnius City Municipality St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra.
His works have been premiered in Poland and abroad as part of international music festivals by, among others, The Orchestra of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Sopot (Poland), Quatuor Diotima in Paris (France), Šv. Kristoforo Kamerinis Orkestras in Vilnius (Lithuania), Black Pencil Ensemble in Schokland (Netherlands) and Amorsima Trio in Louisville (USA).
He was awarded the Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding achievements in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years and the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music Rector's Scholarship for the best students for 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years.
He expanded his skills during master classes under the guidance of Linia Tonia, Tomasz Skweres, Francesca Verunelli, Oscar Bianchi, Tristan Murail, Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, Adam Sztaba, Jerry Gates, Tim Simonec, Bruce Broughton, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Andrew Norman and others.
