Paolo MUNAO' musician
Born in Messina in a Bachian day (1971).
Recipient of the AFAM "Premio Claudio Abbado" 2015, that is the most prestigious italian prize for excellence in the Arts, he received the ASCHBERG Award for Artists from Maria João Pires (Belgais Centre) and the UNESCO Committee (Paris 2004).
Sergio Fiorentino was his mentor.

Debut in Florence with the Orchestra "Cherubini" (MOZART Ch'io mi scordi di te KV 505 for soprano, obligato and orchestra) and at "V. Emanuele" Theater Messina (MENDELSSOHN Piano Concertos). Guest soloist at MDW - Beethoven Institut during the Marco STROPPA' piano workshop, performances to the OCI Festival Orleàns (BACEWICZ, OHANA, DEBUSSY, LENOT, MESSIAEN), he also enjoyed the “Dallapiccola” Contemporary Ensemble in Florence (2011-2014)
Paolo Munaò completed his first research project in 2013 at "Paul Sacher" Stiftung Basel ("János Tamás and the Hungarian piano tradition”). In 2008, he was visiting researcher at Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Interpretationssforschung - IMI Wien(Czernys Klavierpadagogik und Wiener Klaviertradition).
From 2015 he is carrying on his artistic project titled: "Emile Jaques-Dalcroze: mouvement of a piano composer" presented in Austria (2015) and Canada (during the 3rd ICDS 2017, University of Laval). Then, La Belgique Litteraire Collection and rare composers as Buffin, Weyts, Radoux, Frémolle, Deppe (University of Messina).
As soloist, he received tutoring from Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Christian Zacharias at Santa Cecilia State Academy of Music in Rome. Masterclass with Staier, Lonquich, Swann, Breitman, Drake, Spanyi, Berman, Ciccolini, Nikolaeva, Thiollier. He obtained his diploma "Cum Laude" in piano performance at Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Arcangelo Corelli”, also attending the Piano Academy in Imola and the HEM Geneve. He also worked a wide range of Lied cyclus with Prof. Leonardo De Lisi at Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Luigi Cherubini” in Florence (MA as Lied-pianist).
Now, he is carrying on his Artist Certificate Project in "Fortepiano and Clavichord" with Bart Van Oort at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag.
In Switzerland, FNHW issued an excellent report about Mr. Munaò piano assistantship at Musik-Akademie Basel (2013). Then, he was appointed piano professor at MIUR secondary schools of music in Florence, and he enjoyed the faculty of the Julliard School/Ferro Summer Program in Tuscany.
Today Paolo Munaò lives up Impruneta' hills.
