Founded in 1992 at the request of the City of Geneva, the festival Archipel is entirely devoted to today's music. Each year, the festival organises events that reflect all forms of musical creation and open to other disciplines such as dance, cinema, video or plastic arts. During ten days in late March-early April, it explores the fields of instrumental and vocal music, staged and multimedia works, improvisation, electracoustic and sound installations. The festival collaborates with the main cultural partners in Switzerland and abroad, invites the greatest composers of our time and promotes the young generation of composers with commissions of new works.
