Tom Poulson (trumpet) has performed across Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. He is a member of Stockholm Chamber Brass, KammarensembleN and WorldBrass ensembles and a prize winner at various international competitions, including the Aeolus International Music Competition for Wind Instruments in Düsseldorf, where he won the prizes for trumpet and for best performance of a contemporary work, and the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe competition. He is currently on trial as the Co-Principal Trumpet of the Västerås Sinfonietta. Tom has been a member of the International Ensemble Modern Academy, Lucernce Festival Academy Orchestra and Impuls Academy and performed as a guest with the Ensemble Modern, Aarhus Sinfonietta, Red Note Ensemble and the Black Page Orchestra. Tom’s passion for new music has seen him give dozens of premieres of works by composers such as Mike Svoboda, Alistair MacDonald, Oliver Searle, Gareth Williams and Timothy Cooper. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the Royal Stockholm and Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestras, Düsseldorf and Nürnberger Symphonikers and the English Symphony Orchestra amongst others. He is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus.
