HannaH Walter studied violin in Düsseldorf, Berlin and Paris with Ida Bieler, Stephan Picard, Saschko Gawriloff, Michael Vogler and Suzanne Gessner (amongst others). In 2016 HannaH passed the „Master of Arts for Specialized Performance of Contemporary Music“ at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with distinction. Nominated a scholarship of the Kunststiftung NRW, she is working in the season 2016/17 as violinist of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. She envisions her professional future in-between disciplines, and combines her musical formation currently with an artistic and performative practice as well as artistic research in the „Master of Arts in Transdisciplinarity“ at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. HannaH holds scholarships from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, Stendaler Jütting-Stiftung, Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung, and received the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for Foreign Scholars and Artists for the Academic Year 2015-2016. In September 2017 she wins the second prize of the Concours Nicati, prestigious competition on performing contemporary music in Switzerland. HannaH is founding member of the Bern-based transdisciplinary collectiv Mycelium, a member of Neuverband (Basel), Ensemble Vidya (Geneva), zone expérimentale (Basel) and Opera Lab Berlin. She regularly works with other ensembles in Berlin and Switzerland, including Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Zafraan Ensemble and Mondrian Ensemble. Since 2016 she is Assistent of the Specialized Master for Contemporary Music at the Musikakademie Basel.
