Nuova Consonanza announces the 26th edition of the “Franco Evangelisti” International Composition Competition, dedicated to the memory of one of the most active animators and founding members of the Association.

The 2024 edition is dedicated to compositions for Solo Piano.

Composers of any age and nationality are eligible. The duration of the composition cannot exceed 12 minutes. Each candidate may present one or more compositions even if already performed, as long as they are unpublished and not awarded in other competitions.
The use of electronic or recorded media is not intended.

The jury will identify three finalist compositions through an autonomous and anonymous evaluation by each jury member, that will express a vote from 1 to 10 for each composition.
The lowest and highest marks will be removed from the evaluation of the five jury member for each composition. Only one work for each composer can be selected as finalist.
This will determine a ranking from which the three finalist compositions will emerge.
In December 2024, at the conclusion of the 61st Nuova Consonanza festival, the selected pieces will be performed by pianist Erik Bertsch in a public concert, following which the winning composition will be announced.

Jury: Marcello Panni (president), Emanuele Arciuli, Erik Bertsch, Emilio Calandin, Salvatore Sciarrino.

The first prize comprises € 1.000 and publication of the score by Edizioni Suvini Zerboni, Milano.
