Born in Bologna in 1995, Edoardo Casali began studying piano at the age of 9, and later, at 16, he took up the bassoon. He graduated with top marks in 2015 from the Conservatorio di Bologna under the guidance of Lorenzo Bettini. He continued his studies with Stefano Canuti and Roberto Giaccaglia at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he obtained an MMus and a PGDip with "distinction." Currently, he is studying Composition at the Conservatorio di Milano under the guidance of Alessandro Solbiati.

Edoardo has participated in bassoon masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Matthias Ràcz, Klaus Thunemann, Giorgio Mandolesi, Sergio Azzolini, Ole Kristian Dahl, Lorelei Dowling, and Johannes Schwarz.

He was a member of the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in 2016 and was part of the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini from 2018 to 2023.

Edoardo won auditions for various orchestral positions, including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano (LaVerdi), and Orchestra "I Pomeriggi Musicali" di Milano. In 2022, he was also successful in auditions for the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Trieste and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

As a soloist, Edoardo has performed works by Vivaldi, C.M. Von Weber, Michael Daugherty, and others, both in Italy and the United Kingdom.

He has been selected to participate in various prestigious programs, including the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme 2019 (Composition & Performance), NEXT 2020 (Birmingham Contemporary Music Group), London Sinfonietta Academy 2020, Ensemble Modem Akademie (Klangspuren Schwaz 2020), and Lucerne Festival Academy 2020.

In 2022, he collaborated with the research department of the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, directed by Gabriele Manca, on a project focused on contemporary bassoon writing. In 2023, he performed as a soloist for Divertimento Ensemble in Milan.

Edoardo has also collaborated with various renowned orchestras, including Manchester Camerata, The Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, Orchestra del Festival di Brescia e Bergamo, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Orchestra del Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Civica Orchestra di Fiati di Milano, and "I Pomeriggi Musicali" di Milano.

He has had the opportunity to perform under the baton of esteemed conductors such as Daniele Gatti, Jeffrey Tate, Riccardo Muti, Heinz Holliger, Alexander Lonquich, Jurah Valchua, Christoph Eschenbach, Wayne Marshall, James Conlon, Martin Brabbins, Leonidas Kavakos, Dennis Russell Davies, Markus Stenz, Enno Poppe, and Michele Mariotti.

Edoardo has undertaken tours in Europe, China, and Vietnam.
