fear in the dark

« fear in the dark », for string quartet and live electronics, is my first composition for string quartet. Using spectral techniques, it explores live sound processing by feeding the sound from the quartet into reverbs and ring modulators, whose parameters are partially controlled by amplitude detectors.
A labyrinth of harmonies and melodic lines that continuously transform, projected into space; the metaphor of the quartet and its shadow.
